Delhi airport operator DIAL confirms nearly 100 flight cancellations, with 60 departures and 40 arrivals affected, due to airspace restrictions over Iran and parts of West Asia.

Nearly 100 flights have been cancelled at Delhi airport due to airspace restrictions over Iran and parts of West Asia on Sunday.

According to the latest update, 60 departures and 40 arrivals have been affected so far. The cancellations were confirmed by the operator of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

Officials said the disruptions are linked to restrictions in airspace over Iran and nearby regions, forcing airlines to alter routes and cancel several services.

IndiGo Extends Suspension Of Select International Flights Till March 2

In an official statement, IndiGo said that it has extended the temporary suspension of select international flights that operate through Middle East airspace until March 2, 2026.

In a travel advisory posted on X, the airline said, “We continue to observe developments across parts of the Middle East and surrounding regions with utmost attentiveness. We understand that this period may feel uncertain, and we want to reassure you that every decision is being taken with care and prudence."

Air India Cancels Several International Flights On March 1

Air India on Saturday announced the cancellation of several international flights scheduled for March 1 as it continues to assess the evolving situation in the Middle East.

In a travel advisory, an Air India spokesperson said, “Close monitoring and careful assessment of the evolving situation in the Middle East have necessitated further curtailment of our scheduled operations, with the safety and security of our customers and crew remaining our highest priority."

The airline said that in addition to previously cancelled services, the following flights scheduled for March 1 will also be cancelled:

· AI131/ AI130: Mumbai-London (Heathrow) / London (Heathrow)-Mumbai

· AI113/ AI118: Delhi- Birmingham / Birmingham-Delhi

· AI155/ AI156: Delhi-Amsterdam / Amsterdam-Delhi

· AI151/ AI152: Delhi-Zurich / Zurich-Delhi

· AI137 / AI138: Delhi-Milan / Milan-Delhi

· AI153 / AI154: Delhi-Vienna / Vienna-Delhi

· AI133 / AI132: Bengaluru-London (Heathrow) / London (Heathrow)-Bengaluru

· AI157 / AI158: Delhi-Copenhagen / Copenhagen/Delhi

· AI2017 / AI2018 and AI2015/AI2016: Delhi-London (Heathrow) / London (Heathrow)- Delhi

· AI2029 / AI2030: Delhi-Frankfurt / Frankfurt/Delhi
