District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Monday directed officials to ensure qualitative disposal of grievances received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and prevent complaints from being reopened due to incomplete resolution. The Collector received a total of 348 petitions related to land disputes, employment, welfare schemes, income certificates, house sites, drinking water supply and pensions were received from people across the district. Of these, 35 petitions pertained to the Revenue Department, 76 to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), 27 to the Police Department and 210 to other departments.

Reviewing grievances with officials after receiving petitions from the public at the Collectorate meeting hall, the Collector said the responsibility rested with Heads of Departments to provide satisfactory solutions within the stipulated timeframe. He instructed officials to accord top priority to grievances received through the PGRS platform and ensure that complainants were furnished with proper endorsements after disposal of their petitions.

Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidhyadhari and other officials were present.
