The Screen Actors Guild Awards got a fresh new name this year. The show is now called the Actor Awards, a change made by SAG-AFTRA. The thinking behind it is simple: this is a show run by actors and made for actors, so the name should say exactly that. Even the statuette has been given a proper name now, officially called The Actor. Nothing else changed, though. Same format, same categories, same night of celebrating the best performances of the year. Kristen Bell hosted the show at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
