The Adani Group has announced a huge plan to make India a leader in AI and data centres. They will spend 100 billion dollars to build data centres powered by renewable energy by 2035. These centres will be ready for advanced AI computing and aim to create a strong energy and technology base for the country.

The investment is expected to attract another 150 billion dollars in related areas like server manufacturing, electricity systems, cloud platforms, and supporting industries. Together, this could grow into a 250 billion dollar AI ecosystem in India over the next decade.

Gautam Adani, the Group’s chairman, said that countries that can combine energy and computing will shape the future. He stressed that India will not just use AI but will also build it, innovate, and export it.

The plan will expand AdaniConnex’s current 2 GW network of data centres to a 5 GW platform, making it one of the world’s largest. The Group has partnered with Google in Visakhapatnam and Noida, Microsoft in Hyderabad and Pune, and is working with Flipkart on a dedicated AI centre for e-commerce and high-performance computing.

These data centres will combine renewable energy, advanced cooling, and high-density computing. They will also support India’s large language models (LLMs) and national data projects, keeping data secure and under Indian control.

Renewable energy is a key part of the project. The Khavda project already produces over 10 GW of green power, and the Group plans to spend another 55 billion dollars to expand its clean energy and battery storage capacity. Fast connections through ports and cable stations will link India to global markets.

To avoid relying on imports, Adani will also invest in local production of transformers, inverters, and other equipment. The Group will train engineers, run research labs, and offer fellowships to develop talent for this growing AI ecosystem.

This project combines energy, technology, and education to make India a hub for AI. Adani invites companies and partners around the world to help build the country’s next-generation AI infrastructure.
