Singer-composer Adnan Sami has shared his point of view on ace playback singer Arijit Singh’s decision to step away from playback singing. Sami believes that Arijit’s decision should be respected and added that the singer hasn’t arrived at this decision impulsively.

The ace singer, in an interview with PTI, reacted to Arijit Singh’s decision and said, “He’s made a conscious decision to retire from playback singing. Whatever his decision is, one should allow him the space and respect that decision. He hasn’t arrived at that decision on impulse; it must be a very well-thought-out one."

Sami further continued and said that Arijit Singh has no obligation to explain his decision. He shared, “It must be for a very good reason, which he knows. It is not necessary for him to disclose that, or perhaps in due course, the world will find out why. It’s his life, and when he feels ready to share the reason, he will do so, if he feels like it. But that space should be given to him."

The singer believes that it is unfair to speculate about the reason behind Singh’s retirement from playback singing and said, “Taking a break from work is subjective, and you can’t generalise it for one particular reason. Everybody can have different reasons behind it."

Arijit Singh Explains His Retirement From Playback Singing

Arijit, in a series of candid tweets, explained the thought process behind taking a decision that had been long overdue for him. “There isn’t just one reason for this. There are multiple factors, and I have been contemplating this for quite some time. Ultimately, I have mustered the necessary courage."

“One of the reasons is quite straightforward: I tend to lose interest quickly, which is why I frequently alter the arrangements of my songs and perform them live."

Asserting that he had grown weary, he said he has decided to go on a musical exploration that will hopefully inspire him. “So, here’s the truth: I’ve grown weary. I need to explore different music to thrive." The singer also acknowledged new talents waiting for their turn to weave magic in the studio. “Another factor is my eagerness to hear new singers who can inspire me genuinely."
