Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Monday called upon officials to work with a clear vision and focused action plan to place the district in the top position across sectors in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing a review meeting with district officials at the Collectorate, he stressed the need to prioritise Key Performance Indicators (KPI), public perception, the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), and Swarna Ward-Swarna Gram services.
The Collector reviewed the priorities discussed at the recent Collectors’ Conference and directed the departments to improve governance outcomes through innovation and accountability. He noted that Visakhapatnam was already leading the State in Gross District Domestic Product and per capita income, while ranking second in public perception and fourth in KPI performance.
Mr. Kishore instructed officials to analyse constituency-wise public feedback and take corrective measures wherever dissatisfaction persisted. He emphasised speedy disposal of grievances under the PGRS and said officials must closely monitor complaints that had been reopened.
He also reviewed progress in sectors such as agriculture, housing, irrigation, welfare, healthcare and drinking water supply. Directions were issued to accelerate works under Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT 2.0, improve hostel facilities under welfare departments, and ensure completion of solar unit installations under PM Kusum.
The Collector further asked officials to strengthen e-office implementation, expand skill surveys and improve awareness on welfare and livelihood schemes. Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, DRO M. Visweshwara Naidu and district officials attended the meeting.
