President Potluri Bhaskar Rao and other office-bearers of the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) held discussions with Anita Shukla, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and Ambassador-designate to Ecuador, on strengthening bilateral trade and investment cooperation at the AP Chambers in Vijayawada on Monday.
Industrialists from the pharmaceutical, aqua, spices, manufacturing, textiles, logistics, metals and several other sectors participated in the meeting.
On the occasion, Ms. Shukla observed that Andhra Pradesh was emerging as one of the fastest-growing States with strong industrial growth, rapid infrastructure development and investor-friendly governance.
She said that, for the first time, India had appointed a full-fledged resident Ambassador to Ecuador, reflecting the importance being attached to strengthening bilateral relations and economic engagement with Latin American countries.
Ms. Shukla further stated that India and Ecuador were actively exploring the possibility of signing a Preferential Trade Agreement in the near future, which was expected to create significant trade opportunities for businesses in both countries.
The participants identified strong export potential from Andhra Pradesh in sectors such as agri and food processing products, rice, yarn, pharmaceuticals, IT services, renewable energy, machinery manufacturing and allied industries.
