The Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors’ Association (APGDA) has submitted a representation to Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, urging him to appoint one of the six eligible candidates as Director of Medical Education (DME).

In a letter submitted to the Minister on Thursday (May 7, 2026), the members said there were six eligible candidates serving as Additional Director of Medical Education (ADME), who could be appointed as the DME. An ADME should have completed two years in the post to be eligible for the DME’s post.

They said the government had not appointed DMEs as per seniority so far, and requested the Minister to appoint the DME in accordance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms and uphold the dignity of senior serving doctors in the State.
