Austria, who scripted history with their 10-0 win over San Marino last week, fell to a shock defeat against Romania at the Arena Nationala in Bucuresti on Monday.
Virgil Ghita’s stoppage time winner proved to be decisive as Austria, who rewrote history books in their previous outing fell to a defeat.
Austria who enjoyed a phenomenal outing against San Marino as all ten of their starting outfielders registered a goal or an assists with Marko Arnautovic netting four.
However, Ralf Ragnick’s men couldn’t take their winning momentum to Romania and had to return empty handed from the Capital City.

Napoli forward Rasmus Hojlund continued his impressive form, scoring in Denmark’s 3-1 victory over Greece on Monday at the Parken in Kobenhavn. Hojlund increased his tally to eight goals for club and country since his loan move to Italy from Manchester United. Joachim Andersen and Mikkel Damsgaard also scored.

Depay extended his goal record for the Oranje to 53 goals, the highest in the nation’s history, and provided an assist to surpass Wesley Sneijder’s record with 35 assists. Donyell Malen, Virgil van Dijk, and Cody Gakpo also scored, keeping the Dutch top of the group with 16 points and two games remaining.
Poland, who are three points behind in second place, secured a 2-0 win against Lithuania, with Sebastian Szymanski scoring directly from a corner and Robert Lewandowski adding another goal.
The Faroe Islands took a significant step towards their first World Cup with a surprising 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Sunday.
