Bengaluru recorded a pass percentage of 93.19 in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 examinations, securing the third position among regions in the results announced by the CBSE on May 13. The city ranked behind Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai.

According to CBSE data, a total of 22,459 students from the Bengaluru region had registered for the class 12 examinations this year. Of these, 22,386 students appeared for the examination and 20,861 cleared it.

The board reiterated that in line with its earlier decision to discourage unhealthy competition among students, it has not released any merit list and will not award first, second, or third divisions.

However, CBSE said merit certificates will be issued to the top 0.1% of students who secured the highest marks in each subject. These certificates will be made available to students through DigiLocker.
