Bikewo Green Tech has partnered with Yubhas Renewables to test solar-assisted electric three-wheelers for rural and semi-urban last-mile mobility ahead of a proposed market rollout. “The partnership allows us to evaluate promising clean mobility technology while exploring rural livelihood opportunities,” said Hiten Pal Saklani, CEO, Bikewo. Yubhas CEO Sai Satyam Pradhan said operational feedback would help improve the vehicle’s reliability, affordability and commercial viability.

Hyderabad-based Bikewo will deploy the vehicles across its rider network to evaluate range, battery efficiency, payload capacity, ride quality, thermal performance, braking, operating costs and reliability under commercial conditions. Feedback will be used to refine vehicle design and performance. The companies are also exploring a rural entrepreneurship programme to train youth in vehicle operation, maintenance, customer service and business management. Eligible participants could access financing under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, subject to lender approval, to become owner-operators serving passenger transport, farm logistics, village deliveries and healthcare access, the release added.
