BJP functionary’s request to HR&CE Minister

BJP functionary Vinoj Selvam on Thursday said that new Minister for Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Ramesh should worship only in the temple if he visited the temple in Srirangam.

In a social media post, Mr. Selvam extended his greetings to Mr. Ramesh, who has been elected from Srirangam and has been made the HR&CE Minister. “Please worship in temple only if you visit the temple in Srirangam. Only that would be apt for the Minister for Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments,” Mr. Selvam said.

Mr. Selvam’s remarks followed various social media posts with undated photographs, which showed Mr. Ramesh in front of the statue of late social reformer ‘Periyar’ E.V. Ramasamy.
