A cab driver has filed a complaint with the Parappana Agrahara police alleging that he was robbed by a group of three unidentified men at knifepoint in Parappana Agrahara on Friday.
According to the complaint filed by Ramesh D. the incident took place on May 8, around 10.30 a.m. near the Doddanagamangala main road.
The complainant stated that Ramesh had gone to visit his elder brother’s house and had stopped his bike by the roadside while speaking on his mobile phone. During that time, three men travelling in a car allegedly approached him and asked for directions.
As the complainant was speaking with one of the men, the other two allegedly drew close to him and forcibly removed ₹2,400 cash from his shirt pocket. When he attempted to resist, one of the accused reportedly brandished a knife at him and threatened to stab him.
The complaint further stated that another accused searched his pockets for money, while one of the three men allegedly snatched his mobile phone before attempting to flee from the spot in their car.
The complainant said the person who had taken his mobile phone tried to get into the moving car, but the phone allegedly slipped and fell onto the road. The accused then hurriedly fled from the scene.
Ramesh stated that due to panic and confusion, he was initially unable to note down the vehicle registration number. He later informed his brother about the incident and subsequently approached the police station to file a complaint.
