At Jump Festa 2026, MAPPA officially announced an anime adaptation of the International Assassins Arc of Chainsaw Man, confirming the next major continuation of Denji’s story following the Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc.

MAPPA revealed the announcement during the Chainsaw Man stage event, confirming that the International Assassins Arc will be adapted as a television continuation. A short teaser and new key visual were showcased, signalling a bleaker and more globally expansive storyline as Denji becomes the target of assassins from across the world.
The arc directly follows the events of the Reze Arc film, which released in 2025 and significantly expanded the franchise’s global popularity. This new chapter is widely regarded by manga readers as one of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s most intense storylines, known for its scale, psychological strain on its protagonist and the introduction of major characters including Quanxi and Santa Claus.
MAPPA will once again handle animation, maintaining continuity with Season 1 and the film. While a release window has not yet been confirmed, expectations within the industry suggest a possible late 2026 or 2027 debut due to the studio’s workload. Fans have expressed relief at MAPPA’s continued involvement, given the arc’s demanding action and emotional complexity.

The newly revealed visual shows Denji in a tense, ominous setting, hinting at manipulation, international conflict and escalating violence, with the Gun Devil drawing closer. The teaser has already generated widespread discussion, particularly around how the anime will handle the arc’s darker tone.
With the manga surpassing 34 million copies in circulation and the Reze Arc film performing strongly at the box office, the Assassins Arc announcement further cements Chainsaw Man as one of the most dominant global anime franchises currently in motion.
