Coal India Share Price: Morgan Stanley has reviewed the performance of Coal India and revised target price for the stock. The brokerage has made key observations on Maharatna stock. Notably, the state-owned coal giant on Thursday reported a 15.8 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 7,157.45 crore in the quarter ended December 2025, amid lower sales and higher expenses.

On Monday, the stock touched its day's high of Rs 420.80, which is an increase of over 2.90 per cent from its previous closing of Rs 408.95.

Coal India Share Price Target 2026

Morgan Stanley has maintained its Equal Weight rating on Coal India. The brokerage has raised its target price to Rs 410 per share, up from the previous level of Rs 390.

In terms of earnings adjustments, Morgan Stanley has cut its EPS estimate for FY26 by 10%. However, it has raised EPS estimates for FY27 and FY28 by 6–9%.The target price increase of approximately 5% primarily reflects a valuation rollover to March 2027.

The brokerage noted that the dividend yield on Coal India stock continues to remain supportive.

Coal India Q3 Results FY26

Coal India, which accounts for 80 per cent of domestic coal output, logged a consolidated net profit of Rs 8,505.57 crore in the year-ago period.

In a filing to BSE, the Maharatna firm said that its sales dropped to Rs 30,818.17 crore from Rs 32,358.98 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The consolidated expenses of the company during the reporting third quarter increased to Rs 28,132 crore compared to Rs 27,280 crore in the year-ago period, CIL said.

The board of directors has declared a third interim dividend of Rs 5.50 per equity share for the financial year 2025-26.
