Delhi Police filed an FIR after NeoSapien's AI wearable went missing during India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam.

Dhananjay Yadav, co-founder and CEO of NeoSapien, alleged that his company’s AI wearable product went missing from its exhibition stall.
Delhi Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the alleged theft of AI wearable devices during the ongoing India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
The action came after a Bengaluru-based startup founder claimed that his company’s AI wearable product went missing from a exhibition stall during a security evacuation ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on the opening day of the summit.
Dhananjay Yadav, co-founder and CEO of NeoSapien, claimed that the company’s AI wearable went missing from its booth at the summit venue after exhibitors were asked to vacate the area ahead of PM Modi’s visit.
In a post on X, Yadav described the incident as “shocking" and said Day 1 of the summit “turned out to be a pain" for the company. According to him, security personnel began clearing the exhibition area around noon to sanitise the venue ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit.
Yadav said that he tried to explain that NeoSapien had developed what he described as India’s first patented AI wearable, capable of tracking conversations and analysing emotions, and requested permission to stay back briefly to showcase it.
“Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us. At 12 noon, security personnel arrived to sanitise and cordon off the area ahead of the visit by PM Modi visit at 2pm. I explained that we’re building India’s first patented AI wearable at NeoSapien and requested a chance to showcase it," he said in a post on X.
While one officer initially allowed him to remain, he alleged that another security team later instructed all exhibitors to vacate the area immediately.
He said that he specifically asked whether he should carry the wearable devices along, but was told that even laptops were being left behind and that security would ensure the safety of items kept inside the booths.
“Trusting them, I left," Yadav wrote, adding that the exhibition zone remained sealed for nearly six hours. When access was restored, he claimed the AI wearables were missing. He later shared images on social media showing empty boxes at the NeoSapien stall.
He questioned that how the theft could have taken place when, according to him, only security personnel were allowed inside the exhibition zone at the time.
“If only security and official entourage had access, how did this happen? This is extremely disappointing," he added.
Meanwhile, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday issued a formal apology for logistical challenges and overcrowding that marked the opening day of the summit. Addressing a press conference at Bharat Mandapam, he attributed the disruptions to an “unprecedented" surge in attendance, with more than 70,000 people arriving at the venue on the first day alone.
Vaishnaw said registrations for the five-day event have crossed 300,000 and acknowledged that “pockets of confusion" emerged due to the scale of participation and security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s inauguration. He said a dedicated war room has since been set up to streamline operations and prevent further inconvenience to exhibitors and delegates.
The India AI Impact Summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam, is among the most high-profile technology events hosted in the country this year. The five-day summit, inaugurated on 16 February, has drawn global attention with attendees including Sundar Pichai and Sam Altman.
