India has made a significant advancement in its defence technology with the Ministry of Defence approving the mass production of the Dharashakthi Integrated Electronic Warfare System (EW). This Rs 51,500 crore project, specifically designed for the Indian Armed Forces, will intercept and jam enemy electronic signals, enhancing India’s electronic warfare capabilities.

The system can disrupt enemy communication and radar systems while ensuring the security of Indian communication lines. Experts highlight that Dharashakthi will counter the signal monitoring capabilities of countries like Pakistan and China effectively.

Dharashakthi has been designed for deployment in India’s deserts and plains, such as the Samghat and Shatrughat sectors, where visibility and long-range operations are crucial.

The system’s strength lies in its ability to operate efficiently in high-temperature and open-terrain areas. It features two modules: COM (Communication) and Non-COM (Non-Communication).

The COM module captures, analyses, and disrupts enemy radio signals, while the Non-COM module blinds enemy systems through radar signal identification, jamming, and electronic counter-measures (ECM).

Additionally, it includes an electro-optical (EO) suite with high-resolution cameras and infrared sensors for day and night monitoring of enemy movements.

The Dharashakthi system ensures unbreakable and secure communication for Indian forces, operating over a long range with technology that protects against interference. According to defence experts, even if the enemy launches an electronic attack, India’s communication network will remain secure.

This project, approved by the Defence Acquisition Council, marks a significant step towards India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, enhancing the strength of the Indian Army and giving global recognition to the country’s indigenous defence technology.

Defence experts believe that the deployment of the Dharashakthi system will establish electronic dominance on India’s borders, strengthening the Indian Army at both tactical and strategic levels. It is expected to be a game-changer in sectors where the enemy closely monitors India’s activities.
