TVK further alleged that attempts were now being made to deny the authenticity of the letter and accused Dhinakaran of spreading “false news and misinformation”

TVK video shows Kamaraj voluntarily writing a letter extending support to Vijay’s party.
The battle over government formation in Tamil Nadu has intensified, with the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) filing a police complaint against the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), accusing the Vijay-led party of using a forged support letter in the crucial numbers game that has kept the state on its toes.
The complaint adds a fresh flashpoint to the intensifying showdown between the two parties over the backing of AMMK’s sole MLA, S Kamaraj, in the tight contest to stake claim to power in the state.
The latest development comes as TVK released a video purportedly showing Kamaraj voluntarily writing a letter extending support to Vijay’s party, escalating its bitter face-off with AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran.
Sharing the video on social media early on Saturday, TVK claimed the visuals clearly showed Kamaraj “voluntarily and happily" writing the support letter in favour of the party. According to the statement issued by TVK, the MLA had also conveyed that the decision was taken with the approval of AMMK general secretary Dhinakaran.
“These are the video visuals of AMMK MLA Kamaraj voluntarily and happily writing a letter expressing his support for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He had stated that he was extending support to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam with the approval of AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran," the party said.
TVK further alleged that attempts were now being made to deny the authenticity of the letter and accused Dhinakaran of spreading “false news and misinformation".
“However, the information now being spread that he did not write the letter is completely false and contrary to the truth. It is essential for everyone to clearly understand this. Concealing all these facts, TTV Dhinakaran is continuing to spread false news and misinformation," the statement added.
The party also dismissed allegations that it was attempting to poach legislators or negotiate for support behind closed doors. “The public should understand that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has no need to bargain or negotiate with anyone," TVK said.
The latest development comes amid a political storm triggered by claims that Kamaraj had gone incommunicado after allegedly extending support to TVK in the middle of the tense numbers game following the Tamil Nadu election verdict. Earlier, Dhinakaran had accused Vijay’s party of trying to poach AMMK legislators and maintained that no official decision had been taken by his party to support TVK.
