Bengal's panchayat minister and BJP MLA Dilip Ghosh has recorded a jhalmuri-themed song, swapping his sharp political tone for a lighter, musical side that's now trending online.
The clip follows months after PM Modi's own jhalmuri moment on the campaign trail turned the humble Bengali street snack into a nationwide talking point.
West Bengal’s panchayat and rural development minister Dilip Ghosh has traded political sparring for a music session, singing a jhalmuri-themed track that has quickly caught on across social media. The BJP MLA from Kharagpur Sadar recorded the song at a studio near Chinar Park, not far from Newtown’s Eco Park, where he takes his regular morning walks.
The song, composed by singer Lokesh Giri and his wife Rimashree, walks listeners through the making of jhalmuri — puffed rice roasted over hot sand, then mixed and shaken up with spices — with Ghosh lending his own voice to the track.
