'Drishyam 3' has begun its box office journey on an impressive note. The upcoming Malayalam crime thriller is directed by Jeethu Joseph and had Mohanlal in the lead role. It is the third installment in the blockbuster 'Drishyam' franchise, following 'Drishyam' and 'Drishyam 2'.

Expectations are extremely high for the film.

Kerala pre-sales for Mohanlal's film cross Rs 1 crore

The film has already crossed a major milestone in advance booking. According to film industry tracker AB George, opening day pre-sales in Kerala crossed Rs 1 crore. The positive trend is not limited to Kerala. The film’s worldwide advance booking gross has already crossed Rs 4 crore.

'Drishyam 3' trailer launch reveals new mystery

The much-awaited trailer was launched in Kochi on Saturday. During the event, Jeethu Joseph revealed that Georgekutty faces a very different kind of threat this time.

He said, “The difference between the first and second parts and the third one is that Georgekutty doesn’t know whether someone is behind him, and if so, who it is.”The director added, “In the first two parts, he knew that the police and the dead boy’s family were after him. But in this one, he doesn’t know who it is. I’m not saying there won’t be any elements that will surprise you.”

Mohanlal hints at more 'Drishyam' films

During the trailer launch, Mohanlal suggested that Georgekutty’s story may continue beyond this installment. In a light-hearted but meaningful comment, he hinted that more sequels could be possible. Mohanlal said, "This is not a joke. Let people watch the film and let them decide whether we should do a sequel, like four or five."The film is set to hit theatres worldwide on May 21, 2026.
