DSS activists detained ahead of PM’s visit to Mysuru

A number of DSS activists, who had planned to lead a jatha against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mysuru, were reportedly detained by the City police on Saturday.

The activists had planned to take out a jatha from the clock tower in Manasagangothri on Saturday.

DSS leader Choranahalli Shivanna, who was also detained, said they had planned a “Go Back Modi” protest against the failure of the Government to adequately compensate the relatives of 21 students, who had ended their lives after the NEET fiasco earlier this year.

He said the protestors were opposed to Mr. Modi inaugurating the Viveka Smaraka on a plot of land, where the NTMS girls’ school earlier existed.
