Father allegedly beats son to death in Krishna district

A 19-year-old youth was allegedly beaten to death by his father at Botlavanipalem village in Krishna district on Thursday night.

The victim, Kalyan Chakravarthy, was allegedly attacked by his father, Rammohan Rao, who was reportedly in an inebriated condition. According to the police, the accused struck his son on the head with a stick while he was asleep, killing him on the spot.

The Machilipatnam Rural police registered a case and shifted the body to the Government Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. Investigation is on, the police said on Friday.
