The construction of the flyovers on the National Highway abutting Nellore city will be completed and thrown open to traffic by August, announced Member of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy.

During an inspection of the progress of the work along with the TDP’s State spokesperson Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy at Bujabuja Nellore here on Friday (May 15), the MP directed the site officials and engineers to monitor the progress and ensure adherence to the timelines.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, he, along with Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana and Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, would take the responsibility to get the bridges opened on time.

Though flyover project at Bujabuja Nellore and Golagamudi Road junctions started in 2023, the work has slowed down. While the highway traffic suffered a sluggish movement while crossing Nellore city, even the local residents had to face trouble in crossing the highway to reach the city’s other side.

Deputy Mayor P. Roopkumar Yadav, TDP leader Ketamreddy Vinod Reddy, highway authority and traffic officials accompanied the MP.
