Elimination Chamber, the event that began all the way back in the year 2003 at Survivor Series at the fabled Madison Square Gardens, has evolved into a novelty on its own.

WWE’s upcoming big-ticket event, Elimination Chamber, comes at a crucial juncture as it serves as the final lead-up event to Wrestlemania 42, as the event, which features the unique proposition for both the men’s and the women’s categories, offers up the victors a place in the Show of Shows.

Good Enough For A Stand-Alone Show

Elimination Chamber, the event that began all the way back in the year 2003 at Survivor Series at the fabled Madison Square Gardens, has evolved into a novelty that fans of wrestling entertainment have become accustomed to with its unique setup and the permutations it offers.

The EC is a unique match card that traditionally features six wrestlers in all, two beginning in the ring with four other stars emerging from their respective positioned at the edges of the special steel frame that encompasses the ring and a bit extra.

The Firsts And The Most

The first-ever participants in an EC were Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Chris Jericho and Kane, with the Heartbreakkid emerging trumps, further cementing his legacy.

Booker T became the first person to eliminate a star at the event as he ousted Rob Van Dam, after the latter had began the event alongside Triple H in the ring. Chris Jericho was the first man out of the pod, marking his name in history. Triple H holds the distinction of becoming the first multi-time EC winner as he clinched the crown in 2003 and 2005.

The WWE universe has been treated to a total of 36 editions of the special event, which surged in popularity enough to spring off as a Premium Live Evet.

The event moved into the women’s wrestling landscape in the year 2018 as Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose headlined the event. Bliss put her Women’s Championship belt on the line and managed to defend her title.

The Upcoming Batch

The upcoming edition of the headline event will feature Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams in the men’s section, while Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Kiana James will battle it out in the women’s category on the 28th of February at the United Center in Chicago.
