In the digital day and age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is establishing a firm hold in the creative processes. While films are relying on AI, many actors are also falling prey to its misuse through deepfakes. As AI infiltrates more into the creative aspects of the film industry, fans are also using the technology in the most fun way possible. Recently, a social media account reimagined iconic Bollywood stars like Dharmendra, Shammi Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Vinod Khanna, Mehmood, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, as a part of Gen Z. These modern-day renditions invited some interesting reactions from fans who got to see their favorite stars in a completely modern avatar.
The reel recreates AI reimagined, modern-day versions of Manoj Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Raj Babbar, Shatrughan Sinha, Raj Kumar, Rakesh Roshan, NT Rama Rao, Ashok Kumar, Dev Anand, Jackie Shroff, Mehmood, Sunil Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Kader Khan, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Prithviraj Kapoor, Feroz Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Shashi Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Jitendra, Vinod Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, and Dharmendra.
Reacting to these AI renditions, fans have been sharing their honest feedback. While some feel AI hasn’t done justice in reimaginging the legendary Dharmendra, others feel it managed to make some stars look almost real. Sharing their thoughts, a fan wrote, “Shri Dharmendra Sahab Ji iss AI pic se bhi jyada Handsome the. (Shri Dharmendra Sahab Ji was more handsome compared to this AI pic.)” Another user wrote, “Raj Babbar and Feroz Khan looked almost the same as reality!” A third fan commented, “Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna & Dharmendra were the most handsome guys of their times.”
One of the users also said, “God has stopped creating such handsome men now.” Another one wrote, “Feroze Khan was like this only, the Rockstar of his time.”
While creative use of AI is always welcomed by fans, many actors in recent times have also been victims of the misuse of AI. As a precautionary measure for the same, lots of celebrities, namely, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Suniel Shetty, Arijit Singh, etc have now started opting for legally protecting their personality rights, which bars anyone from using their face, name, or voice without their consent, a punishable offence.
