Senior IPS officer G. Lakshman has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and has assumed charge as the Managing Director of the Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation Ltd. (KPHCC). He officially assumed responsibilities at the KPHCC headquarters on May 4, according to an official release.
S. Syamsundar, Inspector General (IG), Intelligence, who was holding the additional charge of KPHCC Managing Director, handed over the charge to Mr. Lakshman during the ceremony. Upon assuming office, Mr. Lakshman stated that his primary focus would be to streamline the corporation’s activities and ensure the time-bound completion of housing and infrastructure projects for the police force.
The 1997-batch IPS officer has held several key positions including IG, Training. He also played a pivotal role in the recent Kerala Assembly Elections as the State Nodal Officer (Training). Under his leadership, a comprehensive election training was imparted to police personnel of all ranks across the State. He was also instrumental in the drafting and distribution of the ‘Election Hand Book’, a vital resource that ensured the force was well-equipped for electoral duties.
