Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Monday instructed officials to ensure the Outer Ring Road (ORR), from Hebbal Junction to Nayandahalli Junction, is maintained in good condition while expediting pending road and footpath works along the stretch.

At Hebbal Junction, Mr. Rao noted that the wet mix had already been laid and ordered that asphalting be completed immediately. He also instructed officials to construct a high-rise pedestrian crossing to facilitate safe pedestrian movement in the busy junction area. The Chief Commissioner directed the redesign and utilisation of the unused space earmarked for a bus stand near the Hebbal police station.

Inspecting the Bhadrappa Layout flyover area, Mr. Rao said that the damaged service road is being developed under the High-Density Corridor Project and directed officials to coordinate with the Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE), which is carrying out works in the same area, to complete the repair at the earliest.

At Kanteerava Studio Junction, he observed unclean surroundings and water leakage from a BWSSB line, following which Mr. Rao called the BWSSB Chairman on the spot and instructed immediate completion of the work, removal of debris and cleaning of the junction. He also ordered the removal of footpath encroachments, relocation of a transformer, and penalisation of a property owner for dumping construction debris on the footpath.

During the inspection, several abandoned vehicles were found along the ORR. The GBA Commissioner directed officials to clear them immediately and identify a designated parking area for such vehicles.
