In a statement to People, Oscar-winning actor George paid a heartfelt tribute to his older sibling, saying, "My sister, Ada, was my hero."Clooney went on to add, "She faced down cancer with courage and humour. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly."

About Adelia Zeidler

Born on May 2, 1960, in Los Angeles, Zeidler was the daughter of journalist and television host Nick Clooney and writer Nina Bruce Warren.

While her brother hit the headlines for his Hollywood film and television career, Ada went on to lead a largely private life, focusing her time on education and the arts.Zeidler worked for several years as an elementary art teacher at Augusta Independent School. Her obituary notes that her academic excellence in high school earned her recognition as a National Merit Scholar. She was also an avid reader and a member of a local book club, as well as an active participant in the Augusta Art Guild.

Zeidler married retired army captain Norman Zeidler on March 14, 1987, in Augusta, and according to the report, much of the local community attended the ceremony. Her husband died in 2004 after suffering a heart attack.

While she largely stayed out of the public eye, Zeidler did attend her brother’s high-profile wedding to Amal Clooney in Venice in September 2014.Ada's funeral service is scheduled to be held on Monday, December 22. The family has reportedly requested that memorial donations be made towards the benefit of the Knoedler Memorial Library in Augusta.
