Google Pixel 10a Launched in India: The Google Pixel 10a has been officially launched in India. This smartphone is the latest addition to the Pixel 10 series smartphone lineup, and it's designed to bring a premium "Google AI" experience to more people without the flagship price tag.

Google says its new phone is designed to offer the most ruggedness and largest battery ever in an A-series device.

The Google Pixel 10a is priced in India at Rs 49,999 – the same as the starting price of its predecessor. The smartphone is available for pre-order and will go on sale in India starting March 6.

It will be available in four colour options: lavender, obsidian, fog, and berry. Google has announced that the Pixel 10a is part of the Google Pixel Upgrade Program – a special affordability program launched in India in December 2025 for the Pixel 10 series.

The programme offers Google Pixel ownership with zero down payment and zero interest, low monthly instalment plans, with the option to upgrade to a new Pixel phone after 9 EMI payments, regardless of the condition of the old phone.

"This programme further strengthens Google’s focus on making Pixel ownership more accessible while offering people confidence and continuity throughout their ownership journey. And through combining powerful AI, long-lasting hardware, and convenient ownership options, it’s the best of Google AI at the same great price the company said.

Google says the Pixel 10a is Google's most rugged A-series phone yet. It features Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Design-wise, it offers a 'bumpless' look. The phone uses a 100 per cent recycled aluminium frame and incorporates recycled cobalt, copper, and gold – a first for the A-series. The Google Pixel 10a features a 6.3-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, which Google says is the brightest screen in its segment and easily readable even in bright midday sunlight.

The smartphone features the Google Tensor G5 chip, which is also found in the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro smartphones. Camera-wise, the Pixel 10a features a dual camera system consisting of a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. To power the screen, Google has provided a 5,100mAh battery, the largest ever in an A-series phone. Google claims it can last over 30 hours on a single charge. It also supports 30W wired and 10W wireless charging.

Google is bringing advanced AI tools from its "Pro" models to the 10a. These include:

Camera Coach: Real-time guidance to help users frame their photos like a pro.

Auto Best Take: An upgraded version of Best Take, this feature automatically selects the best faces for group photos (up to 20 people) and changes the best expression for everyone.

7 Years of Updates: The phone is guaranteed to receive seven years of OS and security updates, keeping it up to date until 2033.
