General secretary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former IPS officer R.S. Praveen Kumar has sought to know from the ruling Congress party and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as to why they are apprehensive about youth and why the permission to Saturday’s youth meet was denied, though court has granted it later.

While AICC leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was batting for protection of fundamental rights, Mr. Revanth Reddy was trampling them in Telangana. The government denied permission to the youth meet by misinforming the court that the BRS was planning to create unrest in the State with the youth meet, but the court had seen merit in the BRS meet plan and had given its nod for the meet, Mr. Praveen Kumar said addressing a press conference here on Friday.

He stated that the BRS would deploy its volunteers to ensure that there was no disturbance to the movement of regular vehicular traffic on the routes/roads leading to Saroornagar indoor stadium, where the youth meet would be held. It was because of the Chief Minister’s use of unparliamentary and filthy language against BRS and its leaders the latter were replying in the same tone, he said.

He said people were well aware about the history of the Congress party to create unrest for its political interests umpteen times.

The BRS would follow the court directions in organising the youth meet and conduct it peacefully and at the same time raise the voice for the youth through the meeting, he noted.

Speaking separately, former minister V. Srinivas Goud said the previous BRS Government had given permission to Mr. Revanth Reddy’s public meeting at Gajwel itself when in Opposition, but as the Chief Minister Mr. Reddy had denied permission to Saroornagar meeting.
