Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Thursday interacted with government school students from Guntur who are on an educational tour to New Delhi, encouraging them to make the best use of opportunities and pursue higher goals in life despite challenges.
The Minister met the students at India Post Dak Bhavan in New Delhi and lauded the initiative taken by Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi to facilitate the exposure visit for the meritorious students from government schools. He said such programmes help instil confidence among students and inspire them to dream big by providing direct exposure to the nation’s capital and its institutions.
As part of the visit, the students also met Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan. They also participated in an interaction with IAS officers to understand governance, civic responsibilities and the role of youth in nation-building.
Mr. Chandra Sekhar advised the students to overcome family and financial constraints through hard work, discipline and determination. He said success in life depends not on circumstances but on one’s goals and perseverance.
He encouraged students to draw inspiration from leaders and achievers and urged them to develop compassion and work towards helping others irrespective of caste or religion.
Mr. Chandra Sekhar noted that reforms being introduced in the education sector and efforts to strengthen government schools were creating better opportunities for students.
