GS Sameeran will be the new commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday announced a major reshuffle in the bureaucracy with transfers involving the transport department, Greater Chennai Corporation and Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, among other major government departments.

Among the key appointments is that of Gagandeep Singh Bedi as Additional Chief Secretary to Govt in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply department. He was previously serving in the Rural development and Panchayat Raj department.

GS Sameeran, who was earlier Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, will now be the new commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, replacing J Kumaragurubaran.

P Amudha has been shifted to the Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection as Additional Chief Secretary, from her earlier posting in the revenue and disaster management department. KS Palanisamy is now posted to the Revenue and Disaster Management department.

M Vallalar, who was earlier the Commissioner of Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils, is transferred and posted as Secretary to Government, Transport Department.

AR Rahul Nadh has been shifted to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) as its Member Secretary.
