University Librarian Suresh Jange, who is also Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Head Coordinator of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Gulbarga University, has been invited to represent the Indian delegation at the forthcoming All Russian Library Congress – XXX Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association scheduled in Yekaterinburg, Russia, from May 18 to 22.
According to official invitation issued by the Russian State Library, the conference is regarded as the key professional event of the year and serves as a major platform for dialogue among libraries, government authorities and partner organisations.
Experts from India and Russia are expected to deliberate on issues relating to digital transformation, modernisation of libraries, collection development and international professional cooperation.
The invitation was extended by Director-General of the Russian State Library and President of the Russian Library Association Vadim Duda.
The Russian State Library, with support from the Russkiy Mir Foundation, will bear the expenses towards air travel, accommodation, food and cultural programmes for the Indian delegates during the visit.
A press note issued by Mr. Jange described the invitation as a rare distinction for Gulbarga University and the Kalyana Karnataka region.
Vice-Chancellor Shashikant S. Udikeri has congratulated Mr. Jange and expressed the hope that the participation will contribute to the advancement of library systems and academic collaboration in the region.
