Shares of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) fell 1% after reaching a day’s high of Rs 29.17 on 13th October, despite the company securing a contract worth around Rs 204 crore from Hindalco Industries Ltd. The contract involves the fabrication, supply, and erection of pot shell and superstructure components for the Aditya Aluminium Smelter Expansion Project in Odisha.

HCC will boost Hindalco’s aluminium smelting capacity by 200,000 tonnes per year. It will leverage its expertise in large-scale industrial fabrication to ensure the project is completed to international standards.

According to the exchange filing, the contract strengthens HCC’s presence in specialised private sector projects. It highlights HCC’s commitment to India’s industrial growth through innovation, technical skill, and reliable execution.

The company has decades of experience in building process plants, workshops, factories, and custom industrial structures. It often creates on-site fabrication facilities for specific project needs.

On 30th September, HCC signed a strategic MoU with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL). They will jointly pursue large-scale railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects in India and abroad.

The partnership will focus on complex projects, including underground and elevated metro systems, NATM tunnelling, railway bridges, and large-scale EPC contracts. It also allows joint ventures, consortia, and other collaborations. This enables both firms to bid for integrated transport projects under various frameworks, including EPC, design-build, and PPP models.

At 1:16 PM, the shares of HCC were trading 0.87% lower at Rs 28.39 on NSE.
