HDFC debit card lounge access

Under the existing system, HDFC Bank debit card holders who spent a minimum of Rs 5,000 in a quarter could access airport lounges simply by swiping their physical debit card. However, this process will be replaced with a voucher-based system, aimed at streamlining lounge access and enhancing convenience for customers, according to the ET report.

New spend criteria and voucher system

According to The Economic Times, under the new system, cardholders who spend Rs 10,000 or more in a calendar quarter will receive an SMS or email within two working days containing a link to claim their lounge access voucher.

Once the customer clicks the link, logs in using their registered mobile number, and validates the OTP, they can claim the voucher. Upon successful claim, a 12-18 digit alphanumeric voucher code or QR code will be sent to the registered mobile number and email, which must be presented at the airport lounge for complimentary access. Notably, physical debit card-based lounge entry will no longer be accepted after January 10, 2026.

Voucher Validity

The lounge voucher’s validity extends from the date of generation until the end of the following quarter. For example, a voucher received on November 15, 2025, will be valid until March 31, 2026, while one received on January 10, 2026, will remain valid until June 30, 2026. ET reported.

Lounges Across India

HDFC Bank debit card holders can access lounges across multiple cities in India, including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi. Notable lounges include BLR Domestic Lounge in Bangalore, Travel Club Lounges in Chennai and Kolkata, Encalm Lounges in Hyderabad and Delhi, and Adani Lounges in Mumbai. The list, however, is subject to change based on availability.

How to claim the voucher

The step-by-step process to claim the lounge voucher is straightforward. Customers first receive the SMS or email with a claim link, log in to verify via OTP, check voucher details, and then click “claim now” to validate the OTP again. Upon successful claiming, the voucher is delivered through both SMS and email for use at the designated lounges.

This change, reported by The Economic Times, marks a shift from physical card verification to a fully digital voucher-based system, designed to make lounge access easier and more efficient for HDFC Bank debit card holders from January 2026 onwards.
