Hinduja family tops UK rich list 2026

The Hinduja family has once again secured the number one position on The Sunday Times Rich List 2026, marking the fifth straight year at the top. Sanjay Hinduja, Dheeraj Hinduja, and their family, who lead the century-old Hinduja Group, were ranked with a combined wealth of £38 billion.

The annual Sunday Times Rich List is regarded as one of the most closely followed rankings of the wealthiest individuals and families living in the United Kingdom. This year’s edition features nearly 350 names from across industries and sectors.

Despite challenging global economic conditions and changing policy environments, the Hinduja family has maintained its position through steady business growth and a strong international presence.

The Hinduja Group, founded more than 111 years ago, continues to follow the vision of its founder, Late Shri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, whose philosophy was centered on giving back to society through meaningful work and enterprise. Over the decades, the group has expanded into several sectors while maintaining a focus on economic contribution, job creation, infrastructure development, and community welfare.

Today, the conglomerate operates across 38 countries and has investments spanning mobility, digital technology, banking and financial services, media, project development, lubricants and specialty chemicals, energy, real estate, healthcare, and trading businesses.

In recent years, the group has also increased its focus on sustainable mobility in India. It has made investments in the electric vehicle ecosystem, including charging infrastructure, as part of its long-term strategy towards clean and future-ready transportation solutions.

Apart from its business operations, the Hinduja family continues to support social welfare initiatives through the Hinduja Foundation. The foundation works in areas such as education, healthcare, rural development, and water conservation, benefiting communities in different parts of the world.

Other prominent names featured in The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 include David and Simon Reuben and family with a fortune of £27.971 billion, Sir Leonard Blavatnik with £26.852 billion, Idan Ofer with £24.481 billion, and the Weston family with £18.939 billion. The list also includes Christopher Harborne, Nik Storonsky, Alex Gerko, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and Igor and Dmitry Bukhman among the wealthiest individuals and families in the UK.
