How Did Abhijeet Dipke's Retired Father Fund His Foreign Education? RTI Activist Seeks Probe

RTI activist Amit Tiwari has sought a probe into CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke's father's finances and questioned the party's legal defence fund.

A Surat-based RTI activist has sought an investigation into the financial background of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke’s father, questioning how a retired government employee was able to finance his son’s higher education abroad.

The activist has also urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Central GST authorities to examine the legal status and funding of the CJP.

RTI activist Amit Tiwari said he has written to the authorities seeking a probe into the finances of Bhagwanrao Dipke, a retired Maharashtra government employee and the father of Abhijeet Dipke.

Tiwari questioned how Bhagwanrao Dipke could afford to send his son overseas for higher education despite being a retired government employee and sought an inquiry into his financial status.

Legal Defence Fund Also Under Scanner

Besides seeking a financial probe into Dipke’s father, Tiwari also raised objections over the legal defence fund announced for CJP protesters facing police cases linked to the agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Tiwari has written to the Election Commission asking it to verify whether the Cockroach Janta Party is registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, following the announcement of a legal defence fund.

“The Cockroach Janta Party is an unregistered entity but is operating as a political party. If Rs 1 crore has been pledged to it as a legal defence fund, then the Election Commission should verify whether the CJP is registered with it under section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951," Tiwari said.

He further stated that if the party is not registered, its operation under the name of a political party and the collection or receipt of funds may require examination.

In a separate representation, Tiwari urged the Central GST authorities to examine whether senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal would be liable to pay 18 per cent GST on the Rs 1 crore contribution he pledged towards the legal defence of CJP protesters.

Sibal had announced the Rs 1 crore contribution on Monday to the legal defence fund established by the CJP to provide legal assistance to protesters arrested by Delhi Police in connection with the agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Abhijeet Dipke Falls Ill Amid Fresh Controversy

The developments came on the same day that Abhijeet Dipke fell ill at his residence in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and was advised complete rest by doctors.

According to news agency PTI, Dipke came downstairs around 11.45 am to meet a group of people waiting in the parking area of his residence.

However, he soon felt uneasy, moved to the rear portion of the premises, and vomited before returning upstairs without speaking to the media.

His father, Bhagwan Dipke, said doctors were immediately called to examine him.

Dr Vishal Lahane, who attended to Dipke, told reporters that his blood pressure had dropped to 100/60 mmHg and attributed his condition to stress and anxiety.

“Dipke’s blood pressure is slightly low at 100/60 level. He has been feeling uneasy and nauseated since morning because of stress and anxiety. He vomited a couple of times and has been suffering from loose motions," the doctor said.

The doctor said Dipke was administered intravenous (IV) fluids and advised to rest for the day.

He added that Dipke did not have a fever and was expected to recover with adequate rest. If his condition does not improve, doctors will conduct blood tests before deciding the next course of treatment.

This is the second health issue reported by Dipke in recent days.

During protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 25, he had disclosed that he had been diagnosed with typhoid and had been undergoing treatment after remaining unwell for several days.
