A new trailer has been released for Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, confirming that the highly anticipated anime arc will debut worldwide on Netflix on March 19, 2026, with an extended 47-minute first episode.

Revealed during Jump Festa, the trailer offers the first major look at the next chapter in the long-running franchise. Set in 1890s America, the story follows Johnny Joestar, voiced by Shogo Sakata, a former horse-racing prodigy who is now paralysed and struggling with despair. His encounter with the mysterious Gyro Zeppeli, voiced by Yohei Azakami, and a strange energy tied to Gyro’s steel balls sets him on a path toward both physical recovery and a dangerous new destiny.

The series centres on the Steel Ball Run, a brutal cross-continental horse race stretching roughly 4,000 miles and offering a massive cash prize. Johnny and Gyro enter the competition alongside a roster of dangerous and compelling rivals, including Diego Brando, voiced by Kaito Ishikawa, Indigenous racer Sand Man, voiced by Masaaki Mizunaka, and the unpredictable Pocoloco, voiced by Kenichiro Matsuda. As with previous JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure instalments, each competitor brings unique Stand abilities that turn the race into a constant tactical and physical battle.

The anime is being produced by David Production, with direction from Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, series composition by Yasuko Kobayashi, character designs by Daisuke Tsumagari and music by Yugo Kanno. Toshiyuki Kato serves as series director.

Steel Ball Run is one of the most acclaimed arcs in Hirohiko Araki’s saga and marks a fresh narrative timeline for the series, making it accessible to both longtime fans and newcomers. Following parts already available across streaming platforms — with earlier JoJo chapters on Crunchyroll and Stone Ocean on Netflix — anticipation for this chapter has been particularly intense.

With its sweeping Western-inspired setting and new protagonists, Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is positioned as one of 2026’s most significant anime releases when it premieres on March 19.
