Kerala Assembly Polls: 13 LDF ministers suffer defeats

At least 13 ministers got defeated in the Kerala Polls, as the United Democratic Front-led by Congress secured an absolute majority in 97 of 140 seats in the State Assembly.

According to latest polls statistics shared by Election Commission of India (ECI) (7:00 P.M.), here is the complete list of ministers who faced defeats in the polls:

  1. Veena George (Minister for Health and Family Welfare) in Aranmula
  2. M.B. Rajesh (Minister for Local Self-Governments, Excise & Parliamentary Affairs) in Thrithala
  3. O.R. Kelu (Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes) in Mananthavady
  4. R. Bindhu (Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice) in Irinjalakuda
  5. J. Chinchurani (Minister for Animal Husbandry) in Chadayamangalam
  6. P. Rajeeve (Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir) in Kalamassery
  7. K.B. Ganesh Kumar (Minister of Transport in Kerala) in Pathanapuram
  8. V. N. Vasavan (Minister for Co-operation, Ports and Devaswoms) in Ettumanoor
  9. V. Sivankutty (Minister for General Education and Labour) in Nemom
  10. V. Abdurahiman (Minister for Sports, Waqf, and Haj) in Tirur
  11. A. K. Saseendran (Minister of Forests and Wildlife) in Elathur
  12. Roshy Augustine (Minister for Water Resources) in Idukki
  13. Ramachandran Kadannappalli (Minister for Registration, Museums and Archaeology) in Kannur have lost in their respective constituencies

After the first few rounds of counting, the United Democratic Front was leading in 100 of the 140 Assembly seats, while the CPI(M)-led ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) was ahead in just in 40 constituencies. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was leading in only one seat, according to reports.
