An Indian man working in Israel was found dead in an apartment in Jerusalem’s Katamon neighbourhood. An Israeli national was arrested in Eilat on suspicion of murder, investigators said.

According to the Times of Israel, citing police, the 40-year-old victim was found lying on the floor in a house in a pool of blood. Cops found him “stretched out in a house with a lot of blood surrounding him", said Yuval Reuven, the chief of the Moriah station.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the exact cause of the death is yet to be ascertained, said the police.

‘A Criminal Background’

Israel’s Ynetnews reported that the prove signals a “criminal background", with a 31-year-old man arrested in the southern city of Eilat on the basis of suspicion of his involvement in the crime.

At present, the suspect is in custody for questioning.
