A 63-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and attacked his son before reportedly dying by suicide at Manjapetty near Perumbavoor in the early hours of Friday. The deceased woman was identified as Ambika. Her husband Chandran Plavinparambil was later found dead in a nearby vacant plot.
Chandran allegedly attacked Ambika and their son Sanal, 38, an autorickshaw driver, with a machete after they questioned his alleged relationship with other women. Ambika suffered severe injuries to the neck and died on the spot, while Sanal sustained multiple injuries while trying to stop the attack. The police who reached the spot after being alerted by locals shifted him to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kalamassery.
The Perumbavoor police have registered a case.
