An individual allegedly damaged two cars in the convoy of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who is under Z Category security, at the Jana Sena Party headquarters in Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Friday (February 27, 2026) evening.

The accused, identified as Narada Neeladri (35) from Kaviti mandal in Srikakulam district, had earlier worked in Chennai and had recently shifted to Vijayawada. According to the police, he gained entry into the premises by posing as a construction worker, as building works were under progress at the camp office where the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence and party office are located in the same premises.

Superintendent of Police, Guntur district, Vakul Jindal told The Hindu that the accused sat near the Chief Security Officer’s room before picking up a wooden stick and smashing the window panes of the two vehicles in the convoy. Some staff members were also assaulted in the incident. The Deputy Chief Minister was inside the camp office at the time of the attack.

Mahesh Chandra Laddha, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence), Sarvashresta Tripathi, Inspector General of Police, Guntur Range, and Mr. Jindal inspected the spot following the incident.

Mangalagiri Town Inspector K. Veera Swamy said a case was registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other relevant charges, including assault on government staff, based on a complaint lodged by the Chief Security Officer Mr. Penta Rao.
