Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Squad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-player squad for the Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which is expected to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Suryakumar Yadav has been retained as captain as India looks to defend its title. Notably, Shubman Gill has been dropped from the squad, along with Jitesh Sharma, while Ishan Kishan makes a comeback.

About the Men's T20 World Cup 2026
The ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, 2026. The tournament will feature 20 teams competing across group stages, Super 8s, semifinals, and a final. Matches will be played at venues including Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Colombo.

- India opens against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai.
- The high-profile clash against Pakistan is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.

Men's T20 World Cup 2026 Tournament Format
The 2026 edition follows the same structure as 2024:
- 20 teams are divided into four groups of five in the initial group stage.
- Each team plays four round-robin matches within their group.
- The top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8s.
- Semifinals: Winners of Super 8 Group 1 face runners-up of Group 2, and vice versa.
- The tournament will feature a total of 55 matches.
Ishan Kishan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT)
Ishan Kishan led Jharkhand to their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in the 2025–26 season, finishing as the tournament’s top run-scorer.
He scored 517 runs in 10 innings at an average of 57.32 and a strike rate of 197.32, including two fifties and a century (101 off 49) balls in the final against Haryana.
