Minister for Food Processing and Industries, T.G. Bharat Gupta, on Monday laid the foundation stone for the expansion of C-Camp Rythu Bazaar here at a cost of ₹6 crore. The project is expected to benefit nearly 150 farmers and forms part of the State government’s plans to develop Kurnool into a smart city with improved civic and market infrastructure.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Bharat Gupta said the upgraded Rythu Bazaar would include a two-floor market complex, parking facilities, water sprinkling systems, and drip irrigation support for farmers. He said the contractor had been instructed to complete the project within nine months.

The Minister said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had assured farmers during his earlier visit to Kurnool district that the market would be expanded and upgraded with advanced features. “For the benefit of farmers, we have mooted an action plan to establish an Anna Canteen on the premises of the upcoming Rythu Bazar,” the Minister said.
