Annu Kapoor in a recent interview opened up about a 'not so good' first interaction with actor Nawazuddin Siddique from years ago
Acclaimed actor Annu Kapoor recently shared a past encounter with the Gangs of Wasseypur actor that changed his initial perception and he felt the actor is ‘frivolous, chhichhora’. “Years ago, I was called on by the club in Goa to interview Nawazuddin Siddiqui for a program. So when I researched his background, I was impressed that he has done an MSc in Chemistry. I had so much respect for him, seeing that. So I thought I would ask him all these questions about life and science. But he rarely spoke and answered in short sentences.”
The admiration, unfortunately, did not last long. Annu Kapoor also added during a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, “So I thought I would make it more interesting and lighten the situation by asking about his love life. To which Nawas responded that ‘many came and many left’. I thought, what kind of answer is that? I thought that was a frivolous comment coming from him.” Based on the comment, Annu Kapoor called Nawauddin ‘chhichhora’. “Why would you say something like that for a woman and that too on a public platform? Ye bahut hi sasta comment hai (it’s a cheap comment),” he said.

The anchor asks Annu Kapoor Hunter that his comments suggested that he did not have a good time with Nawazuddin, to which Annu confirmed, “He didn’t have anything to tell me. So I only had to speak the whole time. The organizers of the program complained that I ended up being the only one speaking on stage. So I told them What kind of person have you brought to me for this interaction?”
Annu Kapoor concludes, “I don’t think he disrespected me. I think he was disrespecting himself in the process. He didn’t tell me anything particularly disrespectful. What could he say? I was just trying to lighten the mood.” Annu Kapoor was last seen in Jolly LLB3 alongside Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gearing up for the release of his Ayushman Khuranna film Thamma, coming out on October 21.
