Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Polit Bureau member Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy officially opened the new road in Sivanandapuram locality of Kadapa city on Monday (March 02, 2026).
The opening marked the end of a 40-year wait for the locals, who had been forced to use a mud-topped road for decades due to the lack of a proper one.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Reddy said that the road reflected the NDA government’s commitment to development. He said that his wife, Kadapa MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi, had played an instrumental role in mobilising resources for the project.
The party’s division in-charge leaders brought it to the notice of the legislator following an appeal from the locals. The project with a financial outlay of ₹30 lakh was initiated, he added.
Mr. Srinivasa Reddy recalled that the road was one of the poll promises made by the TDP.
