Nissan Motor India has introduced its new budget MPV, the Gravite, in India with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 5.65 lakh. As part of a limited-period launch programme, the company is offering a zero service cost benefit for 5 years, aiming to attract families looking for an affordable yet feature-rich multi-purpose vehicle.
Design and exterior highlightsBuilt on the CMF-A+ platform shared with the Renault Triber, the Gravite carries familiar proportions but features styling elements that reflect Nissan’s design language. The front fascia features a redesigned grille with horizontal detailing, sleek headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps, and Gravite lettering on the bonnet.
The bumper has been refreshed with silver accents and a faux skid plate, while the side profile is enhanced by new 15-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. At the rear, sharp tail lamps connected by a chrome strip and silver bumper accents add to the SUV-inspired look. Buyers can choose from 5 colour options, Forest Green, Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Metallic Grey and Storm White.
Engine and performance
The Gravite is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed EZ-Shift AMT transmission.
Nissan claims fuel efficiency figures of 19.3 kmpl for the manual version and 19.6 kmpl for the AMT variant. A dual-cylinder CNG option is also expected to join the line-up at a later stage.
Variants and interior features
The MPV is available in 8 variants, including Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and a Limited Launch Edition, which adds extra styling elements.
Inside, the Gravite offers a dual-tone black and white cabin with suede-like inserts and contrast stitching. The flexible 7-seat layout focuses on family practicality. Feature highlights include an 8.0-inch infotainment system, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, JBL speakers, ambient lighting, an air purifier, wireless charging, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
Passenger comfort is enhanced with neck and lumbar support, a dual HVAC setup with 8 AC vents, dedicated third-row ventilation and more than 31 litres of storage distributed across gloveboxes, door pockets, seat back holders and cupholders.
Safety packageOn the safety front, the Gravite comes equipped with 6 airbags as standard. Other features include tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, ABS and hill start assist.
