NWKRTC celebrates Hemareddy Mallamma Jayanti

North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) employees organised Hemareddy Mallamma Jayanti at their Central Office in Hubballi on Sunday.

Officers and staff began by offering prayers to Mallamma and lighting lamps.

Chief Labour Welfare Officer Srinivasa Murthy presided over the program.

He said that everyone should adopt the life, words and ideologies of Mahasadhvi Hemareddy Mallamma in their lives. Her love and devotion for family and ideal lifestyle are examples for the modernday society.

Assistant Security and Vigilance Officer Jagadish Koli spoke about the life of Hemareddy Mallamma. He said that the 15th century saint-poet is a role model for the entire community with her devotion, sacrifice and virtues.

Despite facing many hardships in life, she led an ideal life for the betterment of society. “It is an inspiration to everyone that all of us should also live with empathy and sensitivity towards others,” he said.

Chief Legal Officer Shyamala K.N., staff members V.F. Vijapur, Ravindra Avvannavar, Virupaksha Kattimani and other staff and labour leaders were present.
