According to ANI, the blaze occurred while repair work was underway inside the mall premises. Delhi Fire Service officials said they received an emergency call at around 12:20 pm, alerting them to a fire on the fourth floor of the shopping complex. The affected area was identified as an empty cinema hall, where no public activity was taking place at the time.
Speaking to ANI, Fire Officer Yashwant Meena confirmed that repair work was ongoing inside the vacant theatre. During welding, bundles of thermocol stored inside the hall reportedly caught fire, leading to the incident. He clarified that no movie screenings were scheduled, and the cinema was unoccupied when the fire broke out.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and the flames were brought under control without any escalation. Officials confirmed that there were no injuries or casualties, offering relief to visitors and staff present elsewhere in the mall.
