Lok Sabha was adjourned minutes after the proceedings commenced on Friday (February 13, 2026), owing to protests and sloganeering from the Opposition. The House will resume at 12 p.m. 

The Lok Sabha on Thursday (February 12, 2026) passed ‘The Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026’ after hours of discussions. The Bill seeks to amend the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. 

The House has been witnessing disruptions since February 2, after Mr. Gandhi was prevented by the chair from quoting from an article based on excerpts from former Army chief M.M. Naravane’s “unpublished memoir,” which includes references to the India-China conflict of 2020.

The first half of the Budget Session is likely to conclude today. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will not preside over the business of the House until the Opposition’s notice for a motion seeking his removal is disposed of, sources said on Tuesday (February 10, 2026), citing “moral grounds” for the decision.

    Lok Sabha adjourned amid protests from Opposition

    Minutes after the House commenced proceedings on Friday, Sandhya Ray, in the Chair, adjourns the House till 12 noon, amid constant sloganeering in the background. 

    After the Question Hour began, protests from the Opposition continued, with many members trooping into the Well of the House, demanding the resignation of Union Minister Hardeep Puri.

    Lok Sabha will resume at 12 p.m.

    Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan reads a message from the President dated February 7, 2026, saying that she had received the expression of thanks by the members of the Rajya Sabha for the address delivered to both Houses of the Parliament assembled together on January 28, 2026.

    Lok Sabha to remember former MP Bhagwan Dass Rathor; papers to be laid in House

    On the last day of the first phase of the ongoing Budget Session, the Lok Sabha is scheduled to take up obituary references, questions and key government business on Friday, as per the List of Business.The House will remember former MP Bhagwan Dass Rathor at the start of the session, making an obituary reference for the MP who died in January 2026. 

    Afterwards, during the Question Hour, the Union Ministers will give oral replies to questions asked by various MPs. Several Ministers, including those from the Ministries of Education, Culture, Health, Home Affairs, Law and Justice, Commerce and Industry and Textiles, will lay official papers on the Table of the House. 

    The Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture will present its report on “Holistic Development of India’s Tourism Sector through Formal Skill Development, University-Level Courses and Professional Training for Guides, Hospitality and Eco-Tourism.
